Just home after a 12 hour day. I'm tired after having 4 days off. Busy day at 911 - domestics between parents and kids not wanting to get back into the swing of things, cars passing stopped school bus complaints, suicide threats (what's up with that?). Who knows - anyway even though I sat for 12 hours today at a desk, my mind is so tired that it is telling my body to shut down.... And all I want to do is stay awake the watch the RNC.... I just set my dvr to record it so that if I doze off I can still see whatever I miss. Love love love that Sarah Palin.
Well, this is just a quick post before my mind is total mush.... later.

Fixed....
Update.... glasses fixed. Luckily they were under warranty so they just replaced the whole frame.
So I came home to do a load of laundry, and try to knit. I am going on vacation in October with my girl friends and was going to try to make us all shawls to wrap us up in the cool evening ocean air. I'll tell them all to bring sweaters. I have started and ripped out about 10 times so far, and they are just freakin' rectangles !! But the time is ticking away. We leave for the Outer Banks SC on October 12th. The four of us vacation together every year, have dinner, drinks, laughs and cries. A great group. Mary, Beth, Barb, and Me (er I, whichever is gramarically correct).
Well, I have veered off the "fixed" title a bit.... Glasses fixed... so's my dog... and I fixed some cheese and crackers for dinner..... fixed. Later... :))

Broken.....
Not me. My glasses. Harris the Wonder Beagle and I were playing tug of war with a BoBo stuffed toy. I won for once, and he jumped up and hit my glasses. They were kind of askew and I reached up to fix them and POOF... the bow was snapped off. My bad. So today I am off to Empire Vision to see what can be done. Kind of screwed up my day. Got up later than I wanted, dawdled (if dawdling were and Olympic sport, I would have the Gold), and now I'm blogging while I wait for my nailpolish to dry. Yet another stall tactic on my part. Stalling is a cool down from hard core dawdling. I'll post again later with the results of my repair quest..... Later.

Yikes - First blog.....
What am I doing.... I don't really know. But here I am on a beautiful Labor Day, at the computer, instead of being at my camp. And I am doing THIS... BLOGGING. Something I never thought I would do. Yes, I have caved to my blog-savvy sister's cajoling.
I have named this space after my Grandfather. Walter Jones, aka Jonesey.
I'm a "swf", with a 32 year career as a police dispatcher for Onondaga County, in Syracuse, NY.
Live in a cute little double wide mobile home with my adopted beagle Harris. Only the best dog in the world, you know.... My bloggy little sister and her family live in the same trailer park, as does my grouchy old dad. If you are a baby boomer as I am, you are well aware how grouchy our older parents can be. I only hope I never get that way.... As long as I can remember it, I have vowed to myself to keep that thought in the front of my mind.
I am off from work for the next 2 days... So will be exploring this whole blog thing. Thanks for reading.... :))
